Build Relationships

Today I want to talk about building relationships. I Thessalonians 5:11 "So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing". The Bible ranks healthy relationships as the most important thing in life. A Jewish religious expert asked Jesus (Matt 22:36) "Teacher, which is the greatest commandent in the Law?" Jesus replied (Matt 22:37-40): "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself, "On these two commandments depend the whole law and the Prophets".

Relationships: the way in which two or more people are connected.

Building relationships is the key to success in all areas of life. God designed us to be in relationship not isolated. LIfe is just more fun when shared with others. Relationships are important in all areas of our life. There are many different kinds of relationships, family relationships, school relationships, marital relationships, work relationships and so on.

I'm in the process of building a business thru Direct Sales and much is to be said about building relationships before asking someone to become your customer. It's much like not asking someone to marry you on the first date. So many people become eager to get a sale and just skip past the "romancing" phase of building a relationship with the person. It's very important to take some time, lay the groundwork, get to know the person then introduce them to your product by telling them how what you are selling can do to help them. By doing this, they get to know you and you get to know them. I'm a firm believer that people don't buy your product, as much as they buy you and why you are doing what you do. So take the time to build relationships on the front end and it will pay off on the long run.

Now get out there and build those relationships!!
